💡 The Accelerated Dragon is a Sicilian setup in which Black plays ...g6 before ...d6 and gets the bishop to g7 early. "Accelerated" means Black develops the bishop sooner than in the regular Dragon. Its advantage is that it makes it easier to avoid the fierce kingside attack often seen against the regular Dragon, the Yugoslav Attack. On the other hand, when White grabs space with c4, Black needs patience to hold the position.
